About Kalaram Temple
Kalaram (“black Rama”) is named for the dark stone idol of Rama in its sanctum. Built in the 18th century, its layered shikhara and stone courtyard make it one of Nashik’s most recognisable temples. It also holds a place in modern history as a site of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar’s temple-entry movement.
